Srinivas Venkatram

Srinivas is a pioneer with nearly three decades of experience in knowledge & cognition-based change.

As Founder-CEO of Illumine Knowledge Resources, a knowledge impact lab based in Mumbai, India, he has led transformative work across India’s largest corporates, universities, schools, communities and government organizations. Illumine builds cultures of contribution, meaning & fulfilment at work. It has also been pioneering the space of “rapid upgradation of cognitive worker capabilities” – a critical need in an AI world. Illumine’s work has impacted over 5 million people thus far. To bring about cultural and cognitive changes at speed & scale, Srinivas has led the development of a new methodology called Large-Scale Interventions (LSIs). LSIs aim to enhance people’s cognitive abilities and self-awareness capacities in a systematic & measurable manner. LSIs have been carried out in several leading organizations covering target audiences ranging from 10,000 to 300,000 people.

In order to put knowledge & cognition-based change on a firm footing, Srinivas and his team have pioneered the development of several knowledge practices like Knowledge Modeling, Cognitive Measurement, Engagement Design besides developing new methodologies in the fields of Cognitive Ethnography, Learning Architecture, etc. This work has been presented at international forums like the Society for Organizational Learning (SOL), Positive Economy Forum, and BBC Radio 4, and leading national institutions like IITs, IIMs, ISB, etc.

The theoretical foundations of knowledge & cognition-based change are developed in his theory of Knowledge for Enablement. Currently, Srinivas is in the process of writing a book which will offer a comprehensive exploration of this theory and its potential.

Srinivas’ philosophy of change is built on the paradigm of profound inner potential in every human being. This paradigm is based on Swami Vivekananda’s philosophy of Practical Vedanta. He has worked extensively on making Swami Vivekananda’s ideas on Practical Vedanta more accessible & understandable to today’s modern audiences through various media, including documentaries, workshops, series of articles, books, lectures, etc.

In recognition & honor of his original research work on Swami Vivekananda's life-giving ideas in the practical field, he was awarded an Honorary Doctorate (D Litt. Honoris Causa) by the Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Educational & Research Institute – a deemed university run by the Ramakrishna Mission.
